Difference Equations, Special Functions and Orthogonal Polynomials

Special functions and orthogonal polynomials in particular have been around for centuries. In the twentieth century the emphasis was on special functions satisfying linear differential equations, but this has been extended to difference equations, partial differential equations and non-linear differential equations.

This special issue will reflect the interplay of difference/differential equations, special functions and polynomials. Manuscripts purely on special functions and/or orthogonal polynomials are not suitable for publication in AIDE.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

•    Differential/Difference equations for orthogonal polynomials
•    Special functions and analysis of differential/difference equations
•    Partial Differential Equations and Special Functions
•    Special functions defined by difference equations
•    Fractional-order ordinary differential equation (ODEs) and partial differential equations (PDEs) involving special functions and their applications

Submission Instructions:
Before submitting your manuscript, please ensure you have carefully read the submission guidelines for Advances in Difference Equations. The complete manuscript should be submitted through the journal's submission system. To ensure that you submit to the correct thematic series please select the appropriate thematic series in the drop-down menu upon submission. In addition, indicate within your cover letter that you wish your manuscript to be considered as part of the thematic series on coronavirus/COVID-19. All submissions will undergo rigorous peer-review and accepted articles will be published in the journal as a collection.

Submissions will also benefit from the usual advantages of open access publication:

Rapid publication: Online submission, electronic peer review, and production make the process of publishing your article simple and efficient

High visibility and international readership in your field: Open access publication ensures high visibility and maximum exposure for your work - anyone with online access can read your article

No space constraints: Publishing online means unlimited space for figures, extensive data and video footage
