Special functions and orthogonal polynomials in particular have been around for centuries. In the twentieth century the emphasis was on special functions satisfying linear differential equations, but this has been extended to difference equations, partial differential equations and non-linear differential equations.
This special issue will reflect the interplay of difference/differential equations, special functions and polynomials. Manuscripts purely on special functions and/or orthogonal polynomials are not suitable for publication in AIDE.
Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:
• Differential/Difference equations for orthogonal polynomials
• Special functions and analysis of differential/difference equations
• Partial Differential Equations and Special Functions
• Special functions defined by difference equations
• Fractional-order ordinary differential equation (ODEs) and partial differential equations (PDEs) involving special functions and their applications
