The critical successful contact rate \(\beta^{\star}\) as a function of the maximum treatment capacity \(\mathcal{Y}\), for different levels of percent reduction \(\widehat{P}_{r}\). Below the curves, the infection does not persist, while above them the infection persists. The dashed curve is produced with a 12.5% reduction, the dotted curve is produced with 25% reduction, while the solid curve is drawn with 50% reduction in infected individuals’ contact-activity time. The values of the other parameters are as shown in Table 1. The critical contact rate \(\beta^{\star}\)increases with the increase of \(\widehat{P}_{r}\) value.
