The numbers “0, 1, 2 and 3” shown on the subregions denote the number of endemic equilibria in that region. The curve with pentagram represents \(\beta = \beta^{\star}\) below which no endemic equilibria exist. Simulations have been done with the parameter values shown in Table 1.
