Flowchart of an SEI model with education. Humans are recruited into the susceptible class at a rate Λ. Susceptible individuals are infected by the infected persons at a per capita rate \(\beta SI\) and are educated at a per capita rate ε. Infected individuals recover to be susceptible again at a per capita rate γ. The educated individuals are infected at a reduced per capita rate \(\alpha\beta EI\) due to ineffective educational intervention strategies. Per capita natural death rate and death rate due to jigger infestation are represented by μ and σ, respectively
